Will the self stick vinyl floor tiles damage the tiles underneath?

i'm renting and i cant stand the ugly tiles in my bathroom. i was thinking of putting self stick tiles down but i am worried whenever i decide to move and pull them up, will it cause damage to the tiles underneath from the adhesive. thanks
